Moomba to Adelaide Gas Pipeline System

Moomba to Adelaide Gas Pipeline System: Application to revoke coverage under National Gas Code.

On 15 March 2005, the National Competition Council received an application from Epic Energy for revocation of coverage under the Gas Pipelines Access (SA) Act 1997 (the Act) and the National Third Party Access Code for Natural Gas Pipelines (the Code) of the transmission pipelines within the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline System. The system comprises the main transmission pipeline that runs from Moomba to Adelaide in South Australia and laterals (SA:PL1).

The Council released its draft recommendation on 16 November 2005 and its final recommendation on 14 December 2005. The final recommendation was that coverage of the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline System be revoked.

As required under the Gas Code the Council forwarded its final recommendation to the decision-maker, who in this case was the South Australian Minister for Energy (the Hon. Patrick Conlon MP).

On 16 September 2007, the Hon Patrick Conlon released his decision to revoke coverage of the Moomba to Adelaide Pipeline System.
